Ellsworth / Rapid City SD

I'm going to be in Rapid City/Ellsworth AFB for most of the summer, spending some time with brother and attending Sturgis.

I was wondering if there is a Crossfit community in the area.

i have no idea if there is crossfit in rapid city but i did live there from 91 to 96. if you have access to the base they do have a nice new gym. also the ymca in the middle of town is pretty nice too and has plenty of free wts and such so you would be able to do plenty of crossfit stuff. last, i found that there was plenty of open space and availability to run, hike, bike and swim in the area. just watch out for buffalo in some of the state and national parks. lastly, the wind always blows in south dakota so you will be fighting that quite a bit outside. and it gets hot, hot, hot there....but at least it is a dry heat. have a good time and if you like beer there is a brewery on main street that was fun.

Just bought a new mtn bike, so I'm looking forward to going through the hills with my brother.
