Where to start?

I was told about crossfit while on a cruise last week. I have looked on this website and I have no idea what workouts to start with. I was wondering if anyone could lead me in the right direction.

I also have the p90x workouts, but work three jobs and do most traveling on my motorcycle which makes it hard to carry the weights for my workouts and also my laptop to run my dvds while at the fire station.

If anyone could point me in the right direction with this crossfit, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

Re: Where to start?

Read the FAQ (WFS).

Use BrandX's scaled WODs (WFS) to scale each day to your ability level. Start below where you think you are, and if you're not too sore to walk the next day consider stepping it up.

Watch all the Exercises and Demos (WFS) videos you can.

Subscribe to the CF Journal (WFS) and download everything.

If you do a lot of traveling and don't have equipment or a gym available, check out this thread about bodyweight workouts (WFS).

I was thinking the same thing. It's one of the first threads in a while that people actually linked everything for a newbie, instead of saying "go read the FAQ". I know that I'm guilty of that.

Dear Mods... I will write a sticky-worthy newbie post for this forum... please PM me.

Re: Where to start?

Apparently, from the sheer volume of these types of questions, something could be done...but if people won't click the "start here" tab on the left margin, I'm not sure they are gonna read a sticky. The "start here" tab contains links to faq, etc. as well.

Well, I think the issue is that people come straight to the forums rather than reading through the main site. I think that a "Start here" forum post is needed. I'm already writing one up, hopefully it wont be copying the entire FAQ.

Re: Where to start?

I have read through the website and I am still not 100% clear. Just to clear things up

Every day I workout I should do the crossfit warmup (the 3 sets of situps, back extensions, etc.) and then the workout of the day?

Thanks. Workouts so far seem awesome!!!

That's right Christian. Do the Warmup (less sets of it if you need it) and scale the workouts so that its applicable to your fitness level.
