Hello from Northern Ireland

Hi Guys,

Thought it was about time to come out from the shadows. I have been doing the WODs for three weeks now and devouring as much info as I can find on the website. I'm loving crossfit so much and already feel stronger, more energetic and generally healthier/happier. I'm in danger of becoming an addict.

Before discovering crossfit; I have been kickboxing for over a year now and before that amateur league soccer. With kickboxing my conditioning is quite good but I wanted more strength and explosive power. I started picking up the weights at the local BB gym but remembered why I got bored with them in the first place. So in my quest for workout material and new ideas I came across crossfit (god bless the internet) and wow, if only I had discovered this 10 years ago!!

I am just readying myself to head to the gym shortly and trade funny looks with the isolation brigade!

Welcome Martin
We were in Ireland a bit more than a year ago and since then have seen lots of activity/postings from Ireland plus the new Affiliate Colm Oreilly starting up in Dublin.
You are sure to find others... Stick with it, and keep posting.

Re: Hello from Northern Ireland

thanks for the welcome. i'm definately hooked on crossfit, this is the kinda training that makes it worthwhile. really feels like i'm achieving something and i'm only a few weeks in.

hopefully some crossfitters near me will come outta the woodwork. i am tempted by a trip to dublin tho to check out the crossfit gym there and pick up some pointers.

Hi Martin
I have been tinkering for about 6/8 months and just feeling my way with the thinking behind it and also with the zone diet

Cheers Eugene

Re: Hello from Northern Ireland

i've started using the zone too, but i find myself continuously hungry. i keep gettin cravings like some sort of junk food junkie. i'm pushing myself to soldier on with the diet because i do feel like i have more energy with it.

Re: Martin
Just stick with it strictly for at least two weeks. It gets easier, and after you do, you have a lot more control over what you eat.
