MMA Gas Training Max

Science! It works ... but, I'd appreciate any actual CrossFit user experiences!

Re: MMA Gas Training Max

It doesn't do a lot of what is claimed. The first page is a tease to get the response count up, the review with the test info is in the second page linked after 100 comments were posted.

I have been using a power lung, but I realise it is a strength tool for the lungs and diaphragm, not a cardio one like many products claim. As long as you understand this and prefer to wear this occasionally with cardio instead of a hand held breath trainer separately, enjoy.

How about to use a snorkeling pipe? Same effect??
Definitely way cheaper!

Re: MMA Gas Training Max

I cannot speak to the elevation mask but I have used a powerlung and a snorkel pipe and trained extensively for apnea.

The powerlung has helped me make fantastic gains in pulmonary strength and improved breath hold time significantly. The snorkel pipe does very little.

I am wondering if the elevation mask is essentially a powerlung you can wear. If it is I will definitely be getting one. Anyone shed light on this

Re: MMA Gas Training Max

not sure what a power lung is. but i was just given one of the masks and tried for first time this week. like someone above said it doesnt seem to work your "cardio" but it does make your lungs stronger. it forces you to take deeper breathes but from my first experience as soon as i took it off i was pretty much back to normal breathing.
the way it works is it has 3 nozzles you can exchange on the gas mask (which is basically sealed to your face). one nozzle has 3 little wholes to breathe from the others have 1 and 2. it took some time getting used to having the mask suctioned onto your face but overall it wasnt to bad.
