Successfully Programmed a Linear Strength Cycle for My Box

Programmed 8 weeks of 5x5 starting strength at my box. Printed out everyone a spread sheet to track progress. Overall an amazing experience to raise everyone's strength on more basic movements gradually. I now feel more comfortable as a coach moving into the more high skill movements knowing that the whole Box has gained an overall better awareness of the barbell and their bodies. Still programmed wods, but kept the RX weights more manageable and based off 1RM %'s. Here is a hilarious spreadsheet from one of my members who added 70lbs to his back squat PR at the end of the cycle when we re-tested 1RMs. If anyone is interested, I created a pretty easy system to streamline the process into a large class, id be happy to share. Via Email, (PDF).

Re: Successfully Programmed a Linear Strength Cycle for My Box

I just started Starting Strength for myself. I would love to see a program with WODS mixed in to it. Thanks for your willingness to share!

Sounds great. I have a buddy who programmed his gym though a Hatch cycle and saw great results. Would love to see how you did this. andrewbell98@yahoo.com
