Hey, if any of you are out near a bookstore or a newstand, make sure to pick up a copy of the February issue of 'Ultimate Grappling Magazine' -- there's an article on me on page 82 and I talk about CrossFit in there!

Awesome Becca, it seems very rare these days that people give public credit to those that have helped them. To your credit it seems you always talk about CrossFit at every opportunity.

Will definitely pick it up...Funny thing, here in NYC the only place you can reliably pick this magazine up is at the 7-11 around TS.

Becca I missed this post when I was looking at the boards earlier this week so imagine my surprise when I opened Ultimate Grappler and there you are.

You look great and it is a great article.

Congratulations on all your martial arts endeavors.

BTW after reading a post you made a while ago about the Bas Ruten workouts CD's I bought them. I have been using the Muay Thai twice a week and you are right you can't get Bas's voice out of your head. The worst part is I do it in the morning sometimes and all day long I hear give me 10 right knees. The production quality was good for the DVD and the CD's are exactly what I was looking for.

OK Becca, I just picked up my copy of the magazine. I had to wait for some other books to come in that I ordered first then bought them all together. Anyway, it is a very nice article. I now know why you are very knowledgeable on the world of MMA as it involves Pride and UFC. I know what you mean about fighting in those gis. I don’t care for them either but one does what one has to. Hey nice plug for CrossFit. I believe in this system as well and I have not stuck with any others like this one. I use to flounder around doing whatever just to stay in shape when I was working outside of my particular training programs from my MA schools. CrossFit is definitely more structured and has steps and processes in place that can help anybody. The training is also greatly benneficial as it carries over into my fire fighting world as well.

BTW: congrads on being the first female in this series on Women in MMA. Way to blaze that trail. All that and a music editor for the TV show “Scrubs”.
Beauty, Brains and a Bad A$$…you go girl!:biggrinthumb:

Derek -- Thanks! And I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying Bas's stuff as well!

Peter -- Thanks! Yeah, I actually recently switched jiujitsu schools, so I am now training in the gi for the first time. It takes a bit of getting used to! lol! I keep forgetting I'm allowed to grab onto things!

Jason -- Thanks, I appreciate it! :-)
