For ANYONE that questions Westside

This weekend at the Pro-Am several all-time records were set. Mind blowing performances of truly unreal proportion. Laura Phelps set an all-time record with 1,800 lbs in the 165s. Donnie Thompson, formerly of Westside and user of many Westside methods set the all-time total record of 3,000 lbs. You read that right, 3,000 lbs between the squat, bench, and deadlift... AJ Roberts upped his all-time 308 total to 2,835 lbs (going by memory on that one). Dave Hoff, with perhaps the MOST mind blowing performance hit 2,910 lbs in the 275 lbs weight class!!!! Crazy, crazy stuff! Jake Anderson of Westside went 2,755 lbs.

Bottom line, NO OTHER STRENGTH TRAINING METHOD HAS DONE WHAT WESTSIDE HAS DONE. Real world results at all at your disposal thanks to CF HQ. You can starting whatever all you want, or you can train in the best possible way for strength. It's up to you...

Re: For ANYONE that questions Westside

Before your posts I was searching for the meet results and didn't see anything on the SPF website, I'm sure they'll post them soon, but any idea where we could see some video of the lifts?

Amazing that the human body can withstand that amount of weight.

Powerliftingwatch.com has a few. I'm sure a lot more will surface soon. Westside-barbell.com has several stills.

I agree with these guys being some of the strongest on the planet. But I will also say that Donnie's squat was not even in the same vicinity as "parallel".

Yup I said it.

Never-the-less, great meet and some crazy weights.

I can squat about 1/5th that amount, but again no dice. Maybe you had to be watching from the side view?

Re: For ANYONE that questions Westside

It looked reallll close with the dip, but it's impossible to really gauge the depth without a side view. Lets defer judgement to the judge and simply compliment the man on a RIDICULOUS total.

Re: For ANYONE that questions Westside

SPF squats are never to parallel. That was actually a really good squat by SPF standards.

What are the standards then for SPF?
