Facebook page

I'm trying to set up a Facebook page for my affiliate, but I don't know if I should set up a regular one, or set one up as a business. What is everyone else doing?

Re: Facebook page

Paulo

Technically, you're supposed to set it up as a business page on FB. If you set it up as a "person", you run the risk that they'll block it at some point I think.

Thanks. That's what I've been trying to do, but I'm having a hard time. I'll keep messing with it and see what I can do.

Yes, when I try to create the Facebook page, it gives me several categories to chose from. I'm guessing I should chose to open it as a business category.

Re: Facebook page

Yes I'd just choose business it doesn't really make much difference to the page.

Basic steps are:
Click dceate a page
Choose Local Business or Place
Then from the dropdown I think the Sports/Recreation/Activities is suitable
Fill in your details address etc
It will ask you add a profile pic
About you section including links to twitter, website etc
Then it will ask you to create a facebook web address for example facebook.com/crossfitfake
Then you're done You can then post as yourself or as your Facebook page

Sorry if there's more info than you needed I just thought I'd get it all out in one go

Re: Facebook page

I came across this thread today, and was hoping to get some help.

I started a FB page for my box, but the naming convention will not allow me to use CrossFit with a capital F. It's forcing me to use lower case or make it two words (Crossfit or Cross Fit).

As I'm sure you know...I need to use the proper capitalization of the F.

Any advice? The help/support thru FB isn't the greatest....lol.

Thanks!

I can't help aside from to say that I do see many CrossFit pages on Facebook with the capitalized F. Somehow, others are doing it.

I think what I did was go ahead and do it with a lower case f then go to about tab and edit basic info and change it from there. It will then show up as CrossFit after that. I think!
