Gym Jones more effective ?

Hi,

I love Crossfit and think that´s the best workout of the world.

But I read about Gym Jones.

Is it more effective than Crossfit ?

Have somebody experience with Gym Jones ?

Re: Gym Jones more effective ?

If you think CF is just CF Mainsite, then for most purposes Gym Jones progamming will be better, but CrossFit is not just 1 entity, it's 2000+ entities (as affiliates can do their own programming) so some affiliates programming will probably work better, many will be worse.

This question is also made less meaningful because better depends on your goals. For some goals GJ progamming is going to be very poor. For some goals GJ programming will be very good. That depends on what you want to get out of it.

Re: Gym Jones more effective ?

P.S. Gym Jones is definitely more effective at depleting your bank account. I just saw that they want $50 PER MONTH for ONLINE CONTENT. WOW.

E-books and real books outlining training plans are available for a ~$25 one time fee. You can subscribe to the CF Journal and see HUNDREDS (Thousands?) of articles for $25/YEAR. You can come on these message boards and get digital coaching, advice on programs, people detailing their experiences (and lots of arguing about stupid stuff ) for FREE. And of course you can go on HUNDREDS of CF websites (many of them doing DAMN good programming, stuff that is sending people to the CF Games) to see exactly what they program, FOR FREE. And yet GJ thinks their content is worth $50 EVERY MONTH? Wow.

Re: Gym Jones more effective ?

Twighty broke away from CF, for what reason I don't know. As far as I can see GJ is CF inspired programming with more focus on strength endurance and aerobic endurance. I could be wrong though.

I've never followed his programming per se, but I'm sure Twighty as well as the likes of DeFranco can probably take credit for introducing strongman type apparatus into everyday programming.

What are you goals?

First, figure out what you want. Then find/modify/build a program to get you there.

If your goals are the same as Twight's, then his program is probably good for you. Read his/Gym Jone's manifesto and background to find out what his goals and motivation are.

More effective than crossfit at what? Really depends on what you're trying to achieve.

That's not specific enough to recommend you a program. What is your definition of fit and how close are you to being there? In what areas of fitness are you lagging behind and in what areas are you already good?

That's akin to saying I want to go on a vacation. In what continent, what country, for sight seeing or for some special event? Will you be able to drive there, have to catch a plane or a ship?

Need a lot more information
