Re: paleo "change your life in 30 days"

I've done my first day - eaten today was (lettuce sushi as above), macadamia nuts, almonds, lamb sausages with rosemary and mint, pumpkin, sweet potato, broccoli, peppermint tea, ruby-red grapefruit, red and green capsicum sticks. I know it's going to get harder than today. One day at a time I suppose.
Cheers, Jo

Re: paleo "change your life in 30 days"

Guys, I'm not doing the challenge, but I've been eating paleo + milk for quite some time now (5 or so months).

I just found this recipe and ate one of them today, they're pretty tasty... and something that feels "different" from most paleo foods.

There are a lot of recipes for different "caveman cookies" on that website.

Re: paleo "change your life in 30 days"

Good stuff. I'm on day 7 and just came across this thread.

My diet was already fairly close to the paleo model, but giving up cream in my coffee and a couple beers on the weekend was the kicker.

Keep at it everyone.

Re: paleo "change your life in 30 days"

This thread has inspired me...I'm starting Paleo today.

I generally follow a very "paleo-like" nutrition plan (all fresh fruit/veggies, only fish, chicken, tofu, nuts, etc)...but I will now cut out my daily piece of toast with almond butter (i'll put the almond butter on a banana!) and will cut out the 8 oz of milk and 4 oz cottage cheese as well. No more legumes either I guess!

So far today:

Breakfast: 3 egg omelette with broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, cauliflower
Snack: Banana with almond butter
Lunch: 5 oz grilled chicken breast, 2 cups fresh spinach, 1 tomato
Snack: Grapefruit, 1/2 cup baby carrots
Dinner (pending): 6 oz smoked trout, grilled veggies

I look forward to following everyone's progress!

Re: paleo "change your life in 30 days"

This is pretty cool - my wife and I just started 30 days of paleo on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress. I wish I'd had some blood tests done before starting to see what the effects might be.

Today's menu:

Breakfast: 3 eggs, turkey sausage, spinach, peppers, olive oil, salsa
Snack: 2 slices turkey bacon, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, apple
Lunch: chicken tenderloin, romaine lettuce, carrots, mixed berries
Dinner: pork chops (broiled in olive oil), green beans, almonds
Late night snack: tuna, 1/2 avocado, olive oil, sunflower seeds, mixed berries

Good luck everyone!

Re: paleo "change your life in 30 days"

I'm really enjoying this. Though I'm "cheating" slightly, once per day, for my bed-time snack.

I have a small bowl of cubed watermelon, sprinkled with some pecans and slivered almonds, about 1/4 cup of coconut milk drizzled over it...and then the cheat...a drizzling of honey on top.

I know, I know...honey is "sugar", but it's also Paleo. But it's just so damned yummy.

Here's the link in case anyone was wondering

Good for you!! I went threw this when I first started crossfit and have since put several people through it(including my mother). The results are amazing, it really is a life changing month. It is also a great detox to start with before you switch over to a more quantity controlled diet like the zone. My wife and I are still paleozoners minus the dairy, btw.

p.s. www.paleofood.com (wfs) is another great source for recipes.

Re: paleo "change your life in 30 days"

Black coffee sucks. I don't care what anyone says.

Otherwise, doing fine. I've been training pretty hard, so I try to make sure I get some dense carb sources post workout or first thing in the morning. Usually a banana or some dried fruit. That seems to be helping. I'm not quite as sore after wod's (not sure if the glycogen replacement is the reason or not) but it works..

Keep on..
