Achilles Pain from Double Unders
In March I finally learned to do double unders. About a month ago I experienced soreness in the achilles after doing a large quantity of them in a WOD. So I laid off of them for a few weeks and iced the area along with stretches. Monday I did a few rounds of DUs and here I am back at square one.
I've been a runner for many years and haven't ever experienced problem with my achilles. I'm very frustrated ![]() |

Ice is good... add in some massage.
Also, roll your plantar fascia and posterior chain (calves/hammies/glutes/maybe low back too) to help loosen up everything. It's likely that the excessive impact is what aggravated it in the first place, so stay away from that for now. Probably won't like it, but it's the best thing to do. To "restrengthen" or "retrain" it do slow eccentrics. |

Hey Steven, what do you think about this??
http://thestick.com/ (WFS) I've used it when I first started learning POSE running and my Achilles and calfs were sore as hell.......Seemed to help with the trigger points and loosened everything up |
