Re: Snatch

Yeah you bent a little early and definitely missed extension, but that all goes back to being patient and not jumping too soon. Don't extend until the bar is in your pockets, and at that point get your shoulders BACK hard. That should help you extend.

As far as the shoes go... I was told to get them. You wouldn't attempt to learn how to play football with skateboarding shoes, and you wouldn't go running in bowling shoes. They will help you out a lot.

Re: Snatch

you snatched that right off the floor. bars too far away to get a good zing.

Don't look down look straight ahead. Chest up, hips down (hips should NEVER be above shoulders.)

Use lats to pull bar in toward you - pull knees back till they can't go any more, then push feet thru floor.

Re: Snatch

The overhead squat is decent enough but the pulling mechanics are complete crap. The head position is looking nearly straight down. The hips start too high then rise even faster than the shoulders. Bar gets way far out in front of the thighs and the arms bend early.

The pull doesn't need fixing so much as it needs a complete reinvention.

AGREED.

My coach would say, "what lift is THAT you're doing??" Youre young can hit the correct positions easily. (Im old, have trouble getting my back arch, and landing correctly.)
