Dream Metal Band

What would your All Star metal band consist of? This includes dead and alive musicians.

Guitar: Chuck Schuldiner (Death) and Ihsahn (Emperor)
Bass: Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus/Death)
Drums: Trym (Emperor)
Keys: Ashley Ellyllon (Abigail Williams)
Vocals: Mike Akerfeldt (Opeth)

I think Chuck and Ihsahn would have made some intense music if they had had the chance. Steve can just flat out make anything sound good. Trym is hands down the best drummer in the metal scene today IMO. Ashley can play some damn good keyboard. And last but not least, Mike Akerfeldt's insanely versatile voice. A good mix of black metal meets death metal, in the purest of forms.

Re: Dream Metal Band

This would be a black/death crossover band:

Vocals: Mike Akerfeldt (Opeth/Katatonia)
Rhythm guitar and backup vocals: Satyr (Satyricon)
Lead guitar: Alex Skolnick (Testament)
Bass: Martin Eric Ain (Celtic Frost)
Drums: George Kollias (Nile)
Programming: Xytras (Samael)

This would be a heavy metal band:

Vocals: Geoff Tate (Queensryche)
Rhythm guitar: Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth/Demons & Wizards)
Lead guitar: Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden)
Bass: Dave Ellefson (Megadeth)
Drums: Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath/Dio)

Those would be some solid bands. I would throw on Criss Oliva in the last band along with Adrian. That would be a kick azz.

Re: Dream Metal Band

Vocals: Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) and Maynard James Keenan (Tool)
Guitar: Dimebag and Mark Morton (Lamb of God)
Bass: Steve Digorgio (Death)
Drums: Chris Addler (Lamb of God)

I love Randy's pummelling vocal style and I think it would be aweomse to pair him up with someone who can sing.

Dimebag and Morton are both thrash/bluesy type players who can shred and groove at the same time

Steve is a sick bass player and could really add some amazing fills on top of playing with the guitarists note for note.

And Chris is just a monster drummer with groove for days.
