Anyone have bathroom issues with ZMA?

This may be a slightly embarassing post but it is worth it if I can get my schedule back in order. Started taking 3 capsules of ZMA nightly about a week and a half ago, and haven't taken a healthy you know what since. Has anyone else had issues with this? I read in the forums that if you take too much ZMA you get diarhea, but I have not seen that symptom, it's just not like it used to be lol. I feel like I am missing out on one of the most peaceful times of my day.
I also take 4 caps of Udo's essential oils, and a Centrum Complete vitamin. However, I am leaning toward the ZMA. Anyone else having this kind of issue. Thanks.

Cut out the centrum. take the oils with a mocerate to large meal not on an empty stomache or with the ZMA... and I asume you are takeing the ZMA before bed and on an empty stomach if not do so.

Does the bottle say 3 caps? I'd second the cutback to 2 caps.

Re: Anyone have bathroom issues with ZMA?

I'll try to cut out the one capsule of ZMA, it does say take three for men. If that doesn't work I will get rid of the centrum. I have taken the centrum my whole life though, and have not seen any adverse effects.

Thanks for the input.

Re: Anyone have bathroom issues with ZMA?

Funny timing on this post. I just started taking zma again about two weeks ago. I am having no such problems. I would stop the centrum first. I take fish oil twice a day (w/bfast and dinner) and two ZMA caps at night. I have had no bowel problems. If anything, its been more efficient.

Re: Anyone have bathroom issues with ZMA?

Most likely your centrum has seleium... that tends to harden your stool.
look at the label of your centrum... does it have zinc as well? are you using protein supplement that has zinc too.. most likely your on the upper end of zinc intake coupled with your regular dietary intake.

Good call Frank! I drink a Beverly Supplements Muscle Provider twice a day. I didn't think to check it.

Re: Anyone have bathroom issues with ZMA?

Two things that can cause constipation and are in many multivitamins are iron and calcium. I would suspect the iron if the Centrum has it. Look for a multi without iron is this is the case. Most men don't need supplemental iron anyway. In fact I took a multi with iron for years and had to stop it after my hemoglobin count went way up. I had to give blood several times before it returned to normal. I guess it just took a long time for my body to store too much iron.
