Richards so laid back its unreal, total opposite of me, I get in a right mental state especially at comps, the only thing moving quicker than me walking up and down is my brain running through what im going to do again and again, my goal is to not go crazy rather as I would never manage calm.

Re: A Bears Tale

If I get too psyched up, I feel like I'm wasting precious energy. But even though I look completely calm sometimes, I'm definitely internalizing the crazyness

Great effort yesterday Scott!

I've been channeling the calm as well lately. I find it helps keep my breathing relaxed which can really help depending on the event/workout. If you watch that event 1a video I tried to just methodically move through the reps and not pay any attention to what was going on around me.

I was going to refer to that exactly, I watched it today and I was glad to see that. Some events can be very overwhelming, it's important to do so to stay focused. Congrats once again Jay!

Re: A Bears Tale

1 February 2011

For time:
15 Thrusters 60k
15 Pull ups 16k
21 Thrusters 42.5k
21 Pull ups 10k
32 Thrusters 30k
32 Pull ups - 13.05

Lost it mentally on the first set of weighted pull ups, just cannot get any kip with a DB between my legs, was way behind the time I wanted and just lost my drive because of it. Only set unbroken was 15 60k thrusters.

Close grip Bench
60k x 20
70k x 15

Re: A Bears Tale

Still 15 reps at 60k is some string work. Don't sweat it my man. Still a good time.

Yes Nik no sweat I know this happens at least once a week, also means a good day today.

Re: A Bears Tale

Two thirds of the way through the Austin video a big man walks into the corner of the screen and tries to fly away, really tickled me, let me know if my mind is warped or if you enjoyed it also.

HAHA I missed this, that is funny! We all go at it differently, Scott you get yourself woumd up. I do a little, during strenth work i get wound up just like you, and I don't take long inbetween sets, it helps me so far.

But like the others said, there is something to not making the painface during the workout that keeps me from hitting failier or breaks as soon.

I'll checkout the video for today and see what you are talking about. I still need to hit the warmup. Temp here is 17degrees here.
