This may be hard to believe, but, I've put on more chest muscle doing push-ups, and dips than on any of the weight lifting routines! My body weight is around 140 at 5'9". Maybe it's because it's new, but there are many body weight and even weighted versions of push-ups, dips, and presses.

Two thoughts- one is a paraphrase of a John McCallum quote, which is to say the only nice chests I ever see are on women.

Secondly, Lenora has it nailed- push ups and dips tend to do the job better than most of what gets passed as 'chest exercises' anyway.

My chest is more pumped looking than ever and my max bench higher than ever since starting crossfit. Definately more so than when I was doing BB type chest exercises.

If you want to develop your chest more I would say one word to you.. 'rings'. Use them for dips and pushups, and everything else too
