Hi Sarina, I used the 1500mg dose for a while to help with both a neck injury and a wrist injury (you have gotta love wrestling). It took about 3 weeks for it to work, but when it did kick in there was a significant reduction in my symptoms. As for the brand, I was using the "Blackmores" brand which is popular here in Australia, but I don't really think the brand really matters as long as the dosage is right. I went for one that had the 1500mg in a single tablet.

I'm using USANA's "PROCOSA II" ... A little bit more pricy, but I noticed a big difference with these, compare to the local market brand.

dont use glucosamine with chondroitin. you'll be wasting your money. use a glucosamine/chondroitin combo, 1500mg/day. i use Jarrow formula and space it out in a morning dose and evening dose. along with self-rehab it has worked wonders for my chondrmalacia. also there are a few people who experience some GI upset, and in elderly people I have seen the drug in their bowel movements undigested, but most of the people who take it don't have any side effects.

Scott, what's the difference between glucosamine with chondroitin (you say don't use) and glucosamine/chondroitin (you say do use)?

Those appear to be identical to me (well, except one has "and" and one has "/").
