My kip's so good...

I guess I'm so good at kipping I kipped myself right off the pull up bar!

Okay, maybe it was due more to sweaty hands but I was halfway through my 21 pullups (FRAN) and I was suddenly off! Because I was kipping, my body position was pretty horizontal when I came off the 8ft tall bar and the first thing to hit the floor was my left hand.
Now I sit here with a possible fractured wrist. It will be confirmed tomorrow when the radiologist looks at it.

Now, has anyone else pulled this move off?

Re: My kip's so good...

I fell polevaulting in college and fractured my wrist (scaphoid). Definitely listen to what the doc has to say. Some of those small bones in the hand need careful attention if they are to heal properly.

Good luck!

This is why we require all our athletes to always wrap their thumbs around the bar when doing any movement from a hang...

best of luck and a speedy recovery to you!

Re: My kip's so good...

For the record, my thumbs were wrapped. my hands were just really sweaty

Figuring out what to do these next 10-12 weeks.
I'm thinking some running, maybe kettlebell work but nothing too intense
