Cross Training and cross fit
Whats the best way to cross train using crossfit? I climb and kayak but find it hard to do the WOD after either one, and if I do the WOD first I find it impossible to climb. I was thinking of taking one day of climbing and scale down the wod or something like that.

You could do a modified schedule. The CF schedule is 3 days on, 1 day off. Maybe you could do 2 days CF, 2 days climbing, 1 day off or something like that.

defitely do the skill training first...then after adequate rest do the work out of the day.

I throw shot put and discus. Usually I would go to track practice, go home, rest a few hours, then go do the CrossFit workout. I always skipped the day before a track meet, which sometimes gave me a 3 on/2 off/1 on/1 off schedule. Practice always came first before the WOD, but I always did the WOD whenever possible. If the WOD was too hard I scaled it.
Anyway, now it's summer so I just follow the regular WOD. We'll see if that pans out for me when I start school in fall. |

Mix it up. Train some afterwards and then some before. CF is best when it mixed up times may vary but all in all your body will get stronger. Change is best.

Great advise so far. Check out Crossfitendurance.com w/f/s. They do a WOD then train 3-5 hours later on Crossfit endurance. Coach Glassman once told me to do a small WOD after jiu-jitsu training.
