Reactive Hypoglycemia
Anyone have any great articles, or links on this?
Friend of mine has just been told by her Dr that she has Reactive Hypoglycemia. So trying to get some info for her, and tips to follow, to counter this someway, to keep her maintaining her goals physically etc. I am assuming this is affecting her performance, physique etc. . . She eats good already, but probably not at strict as she would need to with this. Assuming follow a STRICT Paleo diet , with some other things along the way. Thanx for your help... |

Re: Reactive Hypoglycemia
Intense exercise might give her a bit of problems becaue of the usage of so much glucose/glycogen. Best to work her in slowly.
But yes, the best way to control this is diet. Paleo works. I'd eliminate sugar all together, and be wary of the fruit. If possible, something along the lines of Paleo Zone to help blunt any insulin spiking is a good idea. |

Re: Reactive Hypoglycemia
I think that if your friend has a medical condition, she should obtain diet advice from a doc or a registered dietician, not friends or random internet people.

A BALANCED diet is the key to beating RH. The Paleo diet isn't the right diet for PRH. You can find diet suggestions here: http://reactivehypoglycemia.info There is also an excellent yahoo group called "reactive hypoglycemia" that you might want to join. |
