Rogue competition rings question
I've been looking around for a set of new rings and have one question - are the rogue competition rings really worth the extra $$? I've read a bunch of reviews here on all the companies but cannot decide if the competition rings (at double the price) are better than the standard rogue rings, the mdusa ect.

Re: Rogue competition rings question
Wood rings are way better than metal. Your grip is more secure, it holds chalk better and the rings are lighter. Go with the wood rings.

Re: Rogue competition rings question
If you're talking about the competition straps from Rogue (for their rings), yes they are awesome. Worth the money?... ehhh.. depends on the how much you like to splurge. It's a luxury, for sure. I love the ease of adjustment and how simple they are to make the rings level. You also don't have that extra piece of strap hanging down. I've used Rogue metal rings and their wood rings. Wood is my personal preference.

Re: Rogue competition rings question
I say the competition straps are best for rigs, racks and pull-up bars. The regular straps are little more well rounded for taller things like tree branches, playground equipment, etc.
I have a set of competition straps hanging from my S-2 rack and a set of regular straps hanging from a pull-up bar mounted to the ceiling that is 12ft high. Wood rings is where its at. |

Re: Rogue competition rings question
Thanks for the input. Will probably splurge and buy the competition set. It seems like the easiest setup/take down set you can get.
