Today I was so close to getting my first muscle up. The key is the dynamic pull up. I made it though the transition and then..I come up a little short on getting up from the dip portion of the move. Well I guess that means more weighted dips on the parallettes.
So close to a muscle up I can taste it!

Nice. Yeah, you can make it with a kipping pullup/powered pullup, but you can also make it with technique if you practice it enough. I would suggest learning both. :-) Good luck!

Oh !
You got through the transition and got stuck in the bottom of your dip?
Brutal!
Don't forget to kip your dip, pull your knees up, drive em' straight down transfer the force to your abs and dip.

Awesome progress Jen!
You have had the rings for what 2 months?

A suggestion for grooving the technique. Loop the smallest Iron Woody band around the bottom each ring, and place a foot into each band. The small band gives you that little boost through the transition and improves technique. http://www.crossfit.com/discus/messages/22/27177.jpg

Ok, will give that a try. I made some bands from bike tubes.
Jerry, Yeah your right I've got to get that kip working.
Thanks

I used Skips idea (using the bands) when I was learning the MU. I'm excited for you, Jennifer... getting your first MU is a BIG deal.
