Jump Rope Recommendations?

I'm looking to pickup my own jump rope, used for speed, double unders, etc.

Suggestions?

Re: Jump Rope Recommendations?

I am pretty happy with my rx smart gear jump rope. They have a chart that recommends what length of rope to get based on your height, and a chart to determine which weight of rope to get based on how many DU you are able to do. The thicker handles have a nice grip. There are lots of different colors of handles and rope so you can make it your own stile.

Re: Jump Rope Recommendations?

I like Rx ropes, too, but I think their size chart is a joke, and it stinks their ropes aren't adjustable. I like my rope maybe a little long, relatively, but when I tried to use the length rope they suggested, it was impossible. I ended up giving my rope to a female at my gym who is about 5'6" and she loves it (I'm 6'0").

Re: Jump Rope Recommendations?

I started with an Rx Smart Gear rope but once I got proficient the heavy handles wore my forearms out. Switched to a Rogue SR-1 and it's my favorite rope from any I've ever tried. I can pretty much do 50 unbroken no matter how fatigued I am, 100 fresh and I topped out at 160 once. No way I would've lasted that long on my old Rx.

Re: Jump Rope Recommendations?

I ordered mine from jumpnrope.com. I really like it, the handles are light, nice size and have great spin. It also came with an extra rope which I finally had to put on not too long ago after about a year of use.

Re: Jump Rope Recommendations?

Another vote for Rogue SR-1, love mine. I like the longer handles to get more speed from the rope, and the bearings in that thing will spin forever. I also tend to point my hands downward when i do DUs, and the pivot in the bearing of the SR-1 really stops it from binding when pointed upward or downward which keeps me from missing as much as i did with other ropes.
