Help!! Wod Scheduling!

Hey Guys,

I Need Some Help... I'm An Army Mp And Never Really Have Time To Do The Wod Schedule Like Normal (3/1 Or 5/2) And Need Some Advice. I'm Looking For A Solid, Total Body Wod That I Can Do On The Days I Have Off That Would (more Or Less) 'make-up' For Not Being Able To Follow The Crossfit Schedule. I'd Say I Have A Day Off For Every Three That I Work. I [i]work[i] The Crossfit Schedule Lol. Any Advice Is Greatly Appreciated!! Thanks!

Re: Help!! Wod Scheduling!

Do the WOD on your off day. If it's rest day, use the previous days WOD.

No need to get fancy unless you want to do a primarily strength based workout in which case you should do Starting Strength.

Re: Help!! Wod Scheduling!

Are you saying you workout 3/1 cycle with your army workout program and then want to do CF on your rest day?

If so, that's not a good idea. Stick with your army program and maybe supplement something. Maybe.

Re: Help!! Wod Scheduling!

What's your PT situation like? Do you have to do it with a section/squad on your work days? What's your work rotation? Are you senior enough to lead your own sessions or give ideas for PT sessions? If you can, spell out what your PT schedule is like so the folks here can get an idea of what you have to do, they'd be better able to give you specific advice on when to train.

Re: Help!! Wod Scheduling!

When I run into schedule conflicts, I just run through the past WODs and continue from the one I just left off of, rather than trying to do the one that is posted for that day. There are also quite a few WODs that don't take longer than 10-20 minutes to complete, so those are easily thrown in on those days when you don't have a lot of time...

Re: Help!! Wod Scheduling!

Ian,

Your first mistake was becoming a 31B.

Just kidding I'm currently in a 31B slot as well.

You should see if you can get your command structure on board with CrossFit.
Units all over are sipping the kool aid while others drink it by the gallon.
That includes nasty leg MPs.

My unit is slowly coming around and I hope to have several folks ready to try for their cert next year.

Good Luck!

Keep us informed.

Or modify a WOD to cover what you didn't do during PT. Meaning if PT was a run day, you could do a pull-up/push-up WOD or a Tabata workout, and not tax the same muscles you just did. Or ask your platoon leader if you can lead PT and run everyone around the track and then lead the group into a WOD at every 400 meters.

Re: Help!! Wod Scheduling!

When I'm in a "I need more time situation" , I will Tabata, Cindy, Barbara or Chelsea. It gets over with in short period of time and leaves you the rest of the day.

Haven't heard that said (read it whatever!) in a while

We did PT 5 days a week, and frequently did the same things over and over and over, despite many attempts to change things up. I hope it works out better for you than it did us. I can't tell you how many times we ran up and down Ardennes at the same pace, day after day, week after week, month after month (etc) when I was at Bragg.
