Pendlay Plain Steel Bar Came w/ Pics!

Well after 2 months of crossfit I decided to eat ramen for a couple months so I save my college pennies and afford a Pendlay bar. And man was it worth it. I got the plain steel version from Crossfitequipment.com and it got here in 9 days from the day I ordered. Now this is my first piece of real weight equipment so I'm not exactly a pro at judging but this thing rocks. I've never seen a bar that spins before and already I can tell it's gonna be fun.

I took some pics since there aren't too many close up shots of Glenn's bars that I could find. I'll link to the whole bar but just cruise through my Flickr page and you'll see them all. They're all WFS.

Enjoy. I know I will

Nice. I just got mine last Saturday - I ordered the Echo Bar/Plate set from Rogue Fitness. I have never had a real Olympic barbell before either, and I am very excited about using it.

I just got my Pendlay Crossfit bar yesterday and I have to agree on the knurling. When I ordered it I was worried that it might be too rough but it is just perfect.

.. and the black just looks cool.

That looks sweet, but Pendlay bars confuse me. Is that a (mens Penlay bar) or a (econo Penlay bar)?

It's the Economy Bar, which is also called the Crossfit bar (sold for less cause of crossfit) without the Black Oxide coating. Hope that clears up the confusion.

Re: Pendlay Plain Steel Bar Came w/ Pics!

Now I'm confused.

Aren't there 3 different types of Pendlay bars:

1) The Pendlay Mens Bar

2) The Economy Mens Bar
http://store.wfwclub.com/economymensbar.html

3) The Crossfit Mens Bar

Are you saying that the Crossfit bar is the same as the Economy bar in terms of dimensions, capabilities, and quality except that the Crossfit bar is black oxide instead of chrome and the Crossfit bar is $70 cheaper?

Re: Pendlay Plain Steel Bar Came w/ Pics!

Ok I don't wanna speak for Glenn but I'll explain it as I understand it. Technically he does have 3 Men's bars. He has his Ultimate one (I don't think that's the name but it's his super competition bar), he's got his Men's Bar, then there's the Economy bar.

I think I was a little ambiguous in my earlier post. My bar I purchased is the "Plain Steel" version (without the black oxide coating) of the Crossfit bar, which is also the same as the Economy bar.

Here's a quote from an email I received directly from Glenn before I purchased my bar.

"Jeff,

The "CF bar" is just a discount on the economy bar for CFers. Its the same bar. ..."

Hope that's more clear

Re: Pendlay Plain Steel Bar Came w/ Pics!

Thanks, I think I get the pecking order now. However, it appears he now has 4 bars.

1) Pendlay Elite

2) Pendlay Mens

http://store.wfwclub.com/me20webar.html

3) Rogue Fitness Bar (this looks like a new one, I don't know if this is the official name)

4) Economy/Crossfit
