I really did start to forget how awesome it is to do Crossfit.

After a car wreck and a crazy job and a trip and the hardest quarter of college in my life and all the other stuff I've been dealing with, I really got out of shape and out of practice.

But, after a workout on Sunday night and another this morning, I'm starting to remember how awesome it is.

I love feeling this sore and feeling this strong and this AWAKE. And this HUNGRY. Damn. I'm hungry.

To the few people who were wondering what happened to me--don't worry, I'm back.

Peace -

Welcome back and glad you weren't seriously injured in the accident.

I ran into a similar thing (but no car wreck, knock on wood). I let work stress and lack of sleep and working out over a few months catch up to me and got hit with several soft-tissue type injuries in a row after getting wiped out by a couple of WODs. Still trying to recover from those and am slowly getting back into the gym. I hurt a wrist doing high rep cleans and so couldn't lift (still a problem). So I went for a run and managed to pull/strain something in the middle of my back, which has taken two weeks of doing basically nothing to recover. Go figure.

I feel like I have a fragile hold of my strength gains from a year of CrossFit and think I need another year to consolidate them. Like Larry L. says, it's not a race: always listen to the body! It sounds like you weren't able to hit the WOD hard because of time issues and so didn't. That's a good decision.

Best,
Rene'
