Re: GSP vs SERRA

I don't see how GSP can lose either. Unless it's one of those fluke fights and Serra gets in a shot early. But I think that's about a 1% chance. GSP is rising to lb. for lb. #1 in my book. I'm still a big Couture, Liddell, BJ Penn, Rampage fan though. Not that those are the top 4... don't mean that....

Ok, I'm rambling...

Re: GSP vs SERRA

By the numbers he definitely has the advantage, but anything can and usually does happen. I'm leaning towards GSP but wouldn't be surprised with an upset.

Re: GSP vs SERRA

GSP has got it. GSP has a huge advantage but SERRA could land a lucky shot (again). That is the beauty of MMA isn't it?

Re: GSP vs SERRA

It's not just who is more dominant. This isn't the best match-up for GSP. From Dave Meltzer's column:

"I judge how Iím going to fight by how Iím fighting in the gym, and thatís how Iím going to perform,Ē he [Serra] said. ďIíve been fighting three or four times a week with multiple partners who are bigger and stronger. Iíve got some great stuff. What I pull off in sparring I should be able to pull off in a fight.Ē

Serra notes his strength, heavy hands and a great jiu-jitsu bottom game, stylistically makes him a tough opponent for St. Pierre, whose strengths are great technical stand-up and even better takedowns.

ďIím not saying Iím a better fighter than (Josh) Koscheck (whom St. Pierre beat in August) or Hughes, but Iím a harder match-up for GSP. If he takes me to the floor, heís got long arms and Iíll latch onto them. If he makes a mistake, Iíll catch him.Ē

My money is still on GSP but Serra could be a real pest.

Re: GSP vs SERRA

If I was laying money down, it would all go on GSP. BUT, I recall making the same comments last time around... so, just for the fun of it, I'm going with the underdog on this one.

Re: GSP vs SERRA

I'll go out on a limb...Serra...he wants it more (at least from what I saw on the countdown show).
