Anyone from the Missouri/Illinois area want to join me at the Pere Marquette Endurance Trail Run in Grafton, Il. It is an off-road, single track, 7.5 mile Trail Run - considered the toughest & most grueling race in the Midwest!
Saturday, December 9th, 2006. 9:30 AM.
The race go's regardless of rain, sleet, snow, ice, mud, muck, etc. Registration just opened and it fills fast(limited to 600 people).

I thought it would be fun to get a bunch of local Crossfitters together for this challenge and then head over to Fast Eddies afterwards.
Any takers?

We met there for a sandbag run a few months back. I think John Lake and others do that run. I'll make sure John knows this thread is up.

This is a great race. Registration opend on Sept 1st. Register as soon as possible, the race is limited to 600 people because the trails are narrow. Last year's race sold out in three week. This will be my 3rd year. It is definately a challenge but the beer at Fast Eddies never tasted better.

I hope to see everyone there.

Laurie,

I was planning on it. I was actually going to post a thread about training for this. I was planning on doing nothing other than CF and a few extra long 6 - 8 mile runs. Any opinions?

Don't you people realize that your heart only comes with so many heartbeats? If you use them all up on trail runs you won't live as long!!! Sheesh! Now beer drinking...

OK. I'm registered for the race. Don't know if I have the time off work yet, but this will definitely encourage me to put some effort into improving my poor running ability.....no hills anywhere close but I'm sure I can find some bleachers to run.
