Riggs Gym

I was a Crossfit lurker for about a year, doing the bodybuilding workouts. I couldn't believe the difference in the workouts here at Crossfit. It shocked me that people were doing these workouts and getting ripped at the same time. It took a year of lurking, seeing that Gym Jones is a Crossfit Style, that I became a fan. Slowly, but surely, I started incorporating a few Crossfit WOD's in the middle of my bodybuilding lifts. Then, in November, I took the plunge. My wife and I have been doing Crossfit WOD's ever since and I've become a believer. So here's my logs. Follow along if you'd like.

A little about me:

Retired Independent Professional Wrestler, just did little shows along the California coast, about 90 percent in Southern Cal. But, I got to meet lots of the boys who now have jobs in the big time. I wrestled for 8 years, then I got married last year. But, along the way, my passion for it ended.

I'm currently working on my bachelors in Religious Studies, Comparative Religious Studies. In two years I will be at Fuller Seminary, hopefully. I live in Tustin, CA and work at Rock Harbor, a post modern church in Costa Mesa.

Re: Riggs Gym

Workout: Chipper. GJ 091905

25x Pull-up
50x Deadlift @ 135#
50x Push-up
Run 400m
50x Hanging Knee Raise
50x KB Swings @ 35#
25x Pull-up

Pullups were good. Everything was much easier then the last time I did this, even upped the Deadlift weight to as Rx. The run was good, did it in 2.01, which is a good improvement for me. Hanging Knee was really easy and so was KB swings, up KB to 45# next time. Not as blown up as last time, but I wasn't truly going for time.

Need to dial in my diet. Make my carbs in the morning and go more and more paleo as the night goes, haven't dialed in as much as I need to. Going for 10 calories per pound, 200 grams of protein, and 100 carbs max.

Re: Riggs Gym

No lifting today. My lower back is really trashed from yesterday and my quads are still too sore for more squats, so tomorrow afternoon will be used to prove if I'm worthy. One quick note is that I did drop 1.5 lbs to 195.5. I don't actually wanna drop too much weight, I worked too hard to get to 200 pounds, just about an inch of fat or so. Maybe two inches.

Re: Riggs Gym

Hey Paul!

Just saw your post. Mike Erre married my wife and I from Rock Harbor, small world.

A buddy and myself started a gym in a garage. Come through down a WOD with us someday soon!
