Question Eating right before bed...

Here is my problem...I bartend 3 nights a week and I go from my day job to the bartending job and I really don't have time to stop and eat something. Needless to say I come home and I normally eat something and then go to bed. What would be the best thing that I could eat for a meal right before bed that will not mess up my diet. Thanks!

Re: Eating right before bed...

Chris,

I have the same issues. I work a power shift from 7p-3a and am sometimes forced to eat before bed. I have read tons of posts and articles in reference to this and have read opinions for both eating or not eating before bed. From my experiences I have found that as long as I eat a light, low carb meal, I feel fine in the am. If I were to have a heavy meal, I feel like crap the next day. Follow what your body tells you.

Re: Eating right before bed...

Do you mean 'mess up your diet' as in, not make you gain weight or... ?

If you eat X amount of food/blocks/calories per day to lose/maintain/gain weight, then just save some of that for your last meal. That way you are still eating the same amount, so it shouldn't matter.

Eating right before bed doesn't make your body magically store the food as fat, unless you are in an overall caloric surplus for the day.

Re: Eating right before bed...

I think that Ed answered my question as far as eating or not eating and how it makes you feel in the morning. I think that I am just going to eat a low carb meal before bed and keep it light. That will probably work the best for me. Thanks for the advice.
