Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

Is there a formula applied when designing what order the WOD are scheduled each week. I am also looking at doing the begginers workout from Issue 9 and adding one of the girls each saturday to establish a benchmark. Will this work?

There was a basic template in one of the early Crossfit Journals but by the looks of the most recent WODs that tentative formula isn't being followed any longer.

You could try to do a scaled down version of the WOD instead. Look at the BrandX website for ideas of scaling the WOD down. Their link is on the affiliates section of the main webpage, I think). Start as a buttercup for a few WODs and if that is too easy, move up a level.
