is there any value in this workout?

my gym is a CF/globo mix and the workout on the board was:

1000 AKB swings for time 35/55

best time was 1:09:17

i don't do CF at this box anymore but this workout seemed to be begging for problems.

I don't think there's much value in doing 1000 of anything in a single workout. A workout like this is just begging for hand tears and rhabdo.

That is why I hate running...too many dang steps in a single workout.

Oh, awesome workout--it'll help participants learn how to recover from rhabdo!
And it's functional too!

But in all seriousness, I hope no one gets seriously injured because of that workout.

Re: is there any value in this workout?

No value posted for a general population. For experienced CrossFitters or KB users I don't think it is dangerous.

I kind of look at it like running a marathon. If you want to go for it.

Of course on that note the longest run I would ever program for my gym would be 10k. In a year of being open the longest we have actually done is 5k.

Re: is there any value in this workout?

Variety is what makes my workouts fun. This workout would bore me to death, and would probably cause an overworked lower back.
