I've been weight training and doing Parkour for a while now (training everyday over the CF patterns of 3/1 or 5/2), but am switching to CF over traditional weightlifting because I agree wholeheartedly with the philosophy.

That said, about these "rest days." How much rest is too much? I'm assuming I shouldn't be a complete sloth on these days, but where's the balance? Can I go PK, or is that too intense (should I stick with a low intensity jog or something else)? I can't do absolutely nothing on these days, else I get restless and bored...

Get a job :P

I think the idea is to allow your muscles to rest. Muscles don't grow whilst you are exercising, but only get broken down more and more. Thus, sufficient rest is necessary.

I posted a very similar question yesterday here http://www.crossfit.com/discus/messages/24/35291.html

While you do want to avoid strenuous exercise on rest days, it is a good idea to do something that will get your blood flowing. Increased blood flow to the muscles improve recovery somewhat. Parkour isn't a bad idea as long as you don't do anything too wild.
