Re: Steroid Usage on Starting Strength

I may try this out at the end of the summer, but I was wondering what about for us lactose intolerant people? If I have one glass of milk and take my lactaid pills I still have sticky nasty painful ****s that leave me out of breath and crying.

Maybe I should just tell my belly to suck it up and take it like a man-stomach and quit being a little whiney p***y stomach!

To quote Ryan Blair from similar thread:

"Also for the lactose intolerant - I've been using Digestive Advantage from Walmart and it has saved me, I'm 4 days in with no problems on the gallon a day."

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that stuff and see how it goes.

Re: Steroid Usage on Starting Strength

Are you taxing your immune system by drinking milk? Does it create inflammation, and giving you the runs(dehydration)? You want your body able to put the energy into muscle/strength building. I have the same problem with milk. I substitute walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and canned fish with bones (for protein).

Some people can't handle milk/dairy/whatever. On the other hand, some people can handle tons of carbs.

That's why you have to figure out what works for your body. If milk is giving you crappy symptoms then don't drink it and find an alternative..

Steven, I don't do well with either dairy or too many carbs. I do Paleo almost by default.

I still balk at the idea of drinking a whole gallon of milk a day. I would hardly have room for food!

My one exhortation here is never to eat chocolate. I had some yesterday and paid for it with a six hour stomache ache. Maybe it's just that I'm so used to real food (and ice cream) that my intestines try to kill me when I fall off the wagon.
