Basic DIY Design

Hey guys - I've been asked many times to help out with design & only had time to help a few.

So instead I'm writing some article with CF community in mind on how to create the basics of design necessary for any aspiring affiliate or possibly an existing one. Just the Banner & T-shirt graphics.

Here's Part 1 for now. Will have Part 2 ready sometime later this week or may be next week. And if there'll be need for more - I'll just keep updating it & posting more as we go.

Basic Design: Start Up Guide For CF Affiliates Pt 1 (WFS)

Awesome Leo, thanks. I'd also like to add that rather than pay a graphic designer istockphoto.com (WFS) has hundreds of thousands of great logos which are quickly and easily customized. All cost less than $20.

Re: Basic DIY Design

Damon,

Even though as you know I'm not a huge fan of stock pics, in this case it would indeed be a good investment to use one (or a few) pics from IStockPhoto (WFS)

Thank you for the idea - it actually is perfect for the Part 2 that's waiting on some "art approval" where I had to create some vector images myself. A high resolution stock pic would work beautifully for such design.

Re: Basic DIY Design

Does anyone have experience with any other platforms, such as Gimp 2.6. It's an open source alternative to Photoshop. Trying to save the $$ Adobe wants for photoshop. Or is photoshop elements enough to do the designs you are laying out?

Thanks for putting this together!
