265lb Clean PR

Hey guys, just want some opinions on what I can improve on my clean. I feel like I can add some more pounds with some minor tweaks.

I'll let a few people comment before I post what I think is wrong.

Thanks!

Back could be a lot better set at the start, and you could stand to pull the bar a touch higher on your legs before dropping to catch I think. Overall, good lift though.

You don't even fully extend.

Re: 265lb Clean PR

You guys are both seeing the same things I am. I think I am rushing my second pull and not getting the bar to my hip.

I have fairly long arms and most of the time the bar makes contact with my thighs.

Know of anyway to improve this?

I can also never manage to set my back properly. I can feel the position by retracting my shoulder blades when I am standing, but as soon as I grab the bar I cannot recreate that tension.

Work from blocks. It's going to take time, but do some protocols like:

Clean Deadlift + Clean pull (1+1, 2+1, or even 3+1)
Clean Deadlift + Clean pull + clean
Clean pull + clean (1+1 or 2+1)

Do all of these from blocks. The idea is to pattern yourself into bringing the bar back into you as far as you can using your back as a hinge rather than rushing right into leg extension. It's going to take more deadlifts at first until you become comfortable with it.
