Substitute for sprinting (hitting the same muscles)

As the summer arrives and the temp rises to 110 degrees I will miss a few sprint workouts. I have no problem finding another exercise to replace the metcon effect. I do have a problem finding exercises to hit the same muscles. I know that box jumps work well but am looking for some other ideas to mix it up as substitutes. Top of the quads and hamstrings are hard for me to work. I thought someone might have a few subs or skill work to hit the muscles after doing the wod with rowing or such. I figure someone has done this and am trying to not reinvent the wheel.

Sprinting subs........... anything posterior chain. DL, Oly, squats, any type of broad or vertical jumping, GHRs, good mornings, etc.
