Re: Crossfitters in Bakersfield, CA

Ok, no facilities I know of, what I can tell you is this though:

24 hour fitness has an erg on white and gosford, it’s got loose straps though –very little room in the gym for an sort of crossfit working out, also hugely busy gym.

Inshape on white and stine has some good areas to exercise – nice open plan areas to throw stuff around, the team there are quite forgiving in terms of abusing the equipment if you’re nice ! less busy than 24 hour and at off peak times you can set things up for a WOD. a couple of those step things over there and some med balls kciking around. 2 ergs over there also – model ds which are are in good condition – check out my times on the right-hand ones memory if you like – I’d welcome some competition !

The new inshape on Coffee will have a couple of ergs though less open areas than the white lane one.

Sports Unlimited on Ming and new stine-ish (take ming toward 99) had a few kettlebells a while back, but only light ones, they have med balls, push-up bars skipping ropes, stopwatches and a few bits that may help you out.

Yakuts (?) park by Mohawk and Thruxton has some horizontal bars – one about 4 1/2’ off the ground, which depending on height you might be able to use for pull-ups / muscle-ups – there is not much scenery over there if you do decide to work out outside !

Hope this helps.

Re: Crossfitters in Bakersfield, CA

The best place to go is in Fresno. It is a real workout facility, not some soccer mom gym like 24 hour Fitness. Open space, olympic platform, bumper plates, chalk, tractor tires, jump boxes, rings, everything you could ever want. I left a lot of sweat of and blood there when I lived in Fresno. It is ran by a guy named Dave Standifer, real nice guy, call him at (559) 244-1606. I know it is a little drive, but you could probably get some good workouts in there on the weekends.
