Anyways...

Well, I'm someone who told her trainer "no" when asked to do an exercise post c-section that I didn't feel physically capable of doing at the time. I know my body and I didn't want to get hurt. Ironically, I began doing GHD sit ups for the first time in my life 5 weeks post c-section, so that was not the exercise I said no to. Was I stupid about it? NO. Sure, I was strong before getting pregnant, but still. There is a risk in ANYTHING you do. GHD sit ups are not the devil people make them out to be IMO. In fact, they helped stretch out my scar tissue! :-) And, for the record, I don't train at a box.

If I were that hypothetical newbie, I'd have asked the trainer to just punch me in the face repeatedly for 10 minutes instead. Then, I would have asked for my money back and left. But, maybe I was raised to possess a different mindset than most? I do not believe in being a victim, see. And I also analyze and question everything.

Just do your research people. Take up some responsibility as well. But are there stupid trainers out there? Hell yes and some are reckless.
I apologize if you were kidding.

That's just foolish.

There is difference between HQ's responsibility and a trainer's.

Again, just the numbers show that that Rhabdo is not a "huge problem". Now, if you want to discuss shoulder injuries...
i just want to quote this because it's one of my biggest affiliate scaling pet peeves.

scale reps too! not just weight!

Never mind.

Steven-Thanks for posting that. It should fuel the flame of "is HQ doing enough" on this thread for a while.

Well, do you consider THIS

~ Nothing else to my knowledge has been posted or publicized in regards to rhabdo besides the random threads you see on this board including this one.

Enough?

...so you haven't figured out my stance yet?

They have made a reasonable effort to educate their users...the info is there. If I thought an organization was not disclosing/actively hiding potentially dangerous info, I would not be a part of or patronize that organization.

I already knew that you'd consider that 1 article sufficient. I'm pretty sure most would disagree..

You tend to see only what you want to see, don't you. Do you really think that's the only avail info?

That's the only thing Steven saw, I'm just taking that straight out of his post...

All I'd like is for HQ to put a little disclaimer or scaling warning anytime a particular WOD comes up that is known for causing rhabdo. I don't understand why you're so adamantly opposed to this...
