Re: new KB design by Rogue

They look completely ridiculous when marketed as a kettlebell. I can't imagine how you'd properly snatch one. Just a quick look through the pics to see the guy "swinging" one tells you everything you need to know.

Re: new KB design by Rogue

When I first saw them I thought is was a kettle bell designed to screw a handle on. They would make cool flower pots

Re: new KB design by Rogue

I'm going to order a 53 and a 70 next week.

I'll give my initial thoughts and then a 3-4 week thought on them. As a guy with a messed up wrist I'm looking forward to them.

I imagine snatching this would be worse than a KB or DB. One feature of a snatch is to let the bar slide or spin within your grip as you turn over. If you let this fatbell spin or turn over, the rim could do some damage to your forearm.

Maybe I'm envisioning this wrong. It will be interesting to see more of it in action.

If it can do something a KB or DB can't, then it might be useful. Otherwise, it is a gimmick.

Re: new KB design by Rogue

Well they came in today and excited to break them in tomorrow. Will shoot some video at the box of myself and others putting them through some different movements compared to a KB and a dumbbell.

Sweet. Looking forward to your impressions. I don't understand all the hate before people even try them. Of course they won't work exactly like a kettlebell. They're not traditional kettlebells. Does that mean they are useless? Of course not. I think they're a pretty cool design & can't wait to see them in action.

Re: new KB design by Rogue

I was able to grab one of the Fatbells and I really like them. In my mind, I see no reason to use a dumbbell if you can get a full set of these. I wish they came in weight increments similar to dumbbells vs. kettlebells because I see them more like a dumbbell than a kettlebell.

I wrote a much more detailed review here for those that are interested:
