Is the WOD Enough?

Hello everyone,

I'm 38, 5ft8, 146#/66kg pretty fit but need to lose a little belly fat. I have been doing CF for almost a week and love it. I think I finally found the balance I was looking for! I am having to scale down on weights as my strength is not what I would like it to be yet.

Is the WOD enough (combined with a diet matching the recommended on this site) or should I be adding some cycling/running etc to that also?

Re: Is the WOD Enough?

Is the WOD enough to accomplish what? What are your goals? And how far from them are you currently?

Be specific.

(If you just want to do the vague, get fitter, get stronger, add muscle mass, loose fat thing, then yes, it is more than enough)

Re: Is the WOD Enough?

[For GPP needs] if you need more, you're not doing the WOD hard enough.

I think the OP is trying to lose weight. But, we do need more information.

Hopefully the OP knows that weight loss isn't area specific.

Hopefully he also knows that weight loss at 5'8" and 146lbs is just silly.

Re: Is the WOD Enough?

weight loss and fat loss are two different things. But since you say you want to gain some strength I wouldn't worry about the fat loss right now. Even though you will probably see some fat loss. Eat as much meat, eggs, nuts and seeds as you can, lots of vegetables and some fruit. See where you are 30 days from now and re adjust. Depending on what kind of shape you are in now you could add in some heavy 5x5 squats once a week before a WOD.

Re: Is the WOD Enough?

I'm not the most experienced, but isn't 5'8 and 66kg pretty light? I'm 5'7, and my fighting weight is 66kg, which I work hard to get to..
