I will be travelling to Europe during the latter part of June. I was hoping to get recommndations of crossfit friendly gyms and parks in Paris and London that I should visit in order to complete the WOD. Gyms with bumper plates and parks with pullup bars would be ideal.

Tom,

As far as London goes, it's a huge city with many many parks - which by-and-large contain stuff like flower beds, boating ponds and the like. There may be the odd pull-up bar in the big central London parks (Hyde Park, St James's Park, Regent's Park and Green Park), but I am only speculating here. There is a park near where I live that has pull-up bars, but my recommendation for vacationing Americans is to spend as little time in the London borough of Lewisham as possible!

As for bumber plates, the only O-lifting friendly gym I know of is at the Crystal Palace National sports centre - which is again near where I live in South London. The vast majority in gyms in London are of the architypal "fitness centre" variety I'm afraid.

However, if you like you can drop me a line and I'll try and arrange a meeting during your stay in London so we can do a WOD or two together - other than that I'd recommend bringing what equipment you can with you (jump stretch bands?)

Tom,

Pete speaks the gospel mate, in terms of facilities, but what we do well is parks! I'd love to train with you when you're over, so cc me in when you contact Gally if you want?

Yeah I've never actually seen any pullup bars in a park.

Lol @ Pete's tourists in Lewisham comment.

But won't you have to pay to join the gym even if you only want to use it once or twice?

Maybe this is bodyweight time.

Thanks for all your advice, gents. All of you have inspired me to use the nearest tree limb I can find for my pullups when I saw the pictures of you completing the Military SOS. Bloody hardcore indeed! Gally and Pete, I will look up both of you while I am in London.Could you tell me if I could find a rubberized track in
Central London?

Tom, probably not in central London, but around the outskirts there are plenty.

Hope to see you when you're over, an "international" pain-storming would be great!
