As far as protein drinks go I think it is a decent whey product...although unless you are using post workout I would go for a protein whey/casein mix.

Ben--

It is a Good Protein.

Your body assimilates Whey protein very fast..so that is needed Post-work out.

Like Mike was saying...If you are not gonna use it post-workout go for the Whey/Casein mix as the body will take it all in over a longer period of time.

If one were to use the whey/casein mix for post workout, how long after working out would it be best used? Reason I ask is that just today I was reading about eating post workout and it causing undesirable hormone fluctuations.

You don't want to use the Whey/Casein mix post workout....for that purpose it's a slow digesting protein. They only time you would want just Whey is PWO because of the quick absoption rate. Some figures I have seen anywhere from 15min to 1 hour...rate of absorption decreases as time increases. All depends on the style of workouts you are doing and what your goals are.

For the whole day if you were adding in a protein shake for meal replacement, then you would want the Whey/Casein mix for slower release of amino acids. You would not want just Whey during the day.

Ben;

For Protein info, consider:

http://proteinfactory.com

I have yet to find a company with the high level of service, breath of product and knowledge. If you're going to use a Protein powder or some form of MRP, consider this company.
I have not $$$ interest in this company, other then being a very happy customer for about 5 years.

Just my 1 cent.

Jay

Stay away from Designer Protein from Next Nutrition. Poor Quality.

The best is "hydrolyzed whey", then there is isolates and concentrates. Hydro is more costly and usually tastes worse.
