Toughest Region?
I'm loving the way the open has turned out to be! One of the reasons is the ability to see where everyone stands. I live in NC which is in the Mid-Atlantic region. I was very proud to see my region doing so well in the world wide standing. Out of the top 60, the Mid-Atlantic region has 12 of the top 60 competitors through WOD 11.5 (as of this post - check the time stamp). Thats 20%. With that, I think its one of the most competitive, if not the most competitive region out there.
In a spirit of competitive camaraderie; What do you think is the most competitive region? Which one is going to be the hardest region after its all said and done to come out of to make it to the games? Is your the toughest? Smitty |

Re: Toughest Region?
Froning, Bailey, Holmberg, Youtz, Ulmer, Lutz, Dunifer...#1 and #2 from last year and #1 in the world in the open...gotta be the Central East...it's top-loaded though, not as deep as the others...Although Holmberg and Froning are already in.
Others: Southwest (Speal, Chan, Egyed, Burke, Hackenbruck, O'Connor, Montoya) - Speal and Chan are already in. Northeast (Malleolo, Orlando, Lipson, Frankel, Magee) - Malleolo is in Sleeper is Mid-Atlantic - Edmunds, Schrader, Ben Smith, AJ Moore, Hoogan, Prestin Austin, Hendel - are all beasts. -- No one is an auto-in in this region, gonna be crazy to watch. **Edit** Depends on your definition too, I think it is how powerful is your top 15 (Guys really competing for the Games) not your top 60. |

Re: Toughest Region?
So I guess the question is.. which region has the most athletes in the top 15 world wide? Also, I like most people, only looked at the male leader board and neglected to search for the female, masters and team competitions. Any comments on those?
