You don't need to track calories, I don't, but you will get a pretty good idea when to stop eating at night to create a small caloric deficit. You will burn fat in keto at a rapid rate if you do WOD on an empty stomach and don't overeat at dinner. You probably want to stay around 2000 calories a day. As you get into the 7% body fat territory you become very efficient with every next % of body fat is harder to shed.

Wait, so Attia suggests hormones trick our hunger mechanisms, but you don't need to track your food because you can trust your hunger mechanism??

Why would you ever need to get below 7% body fat? Really? What purpose does it serve except aesthetics.

For most, below 7% BF doesn't look very good. You'd look like a little boy.

Exactly. Froning looks like a monster and his body fat is in the 10-11's. And he is lean( never mind his garbage diet)

Re: 28 days in ketosis

In my experience with keto my apetite drastically decreased after awhile. Beta hydroxybutyrate acts as an appetite suppressant.

Re: 28 days in ketosis

Day 2:
Paulo, I think I am going to track calories/ratios. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that if it didn't work out, I'd regret not knowing my cals/ratios. So thanks!

Bill, you make a good point with the hormones, but if the carbs are causing the hormones to trick the appetite, then lack of carbs means lack of appetite. Right? I dunno, but it turns out I'm going to count anyway.

Update:
Counted cals from yesterday and I don't think I'm eating enough. Gotta up the protein and fat, only hit 1,200 cals. Feel fine, but I'm not going to be able to work out with on so little.
