Plates without inserts?

I'm looking into a bumper plate set and found these near me. They look really crappy, but the guy is selling them for under a $1 a lb. They don't have metal inserts.
I'd love to hear from experience how important this is. Are these worth my time?

Thanks

Those are Ivanko rubber encased plates.

Can read up on them there. If it's rubber encased metal, it's not worth it. They won't hold up to anything.

I must disagree, I've had Ivanko bumper plates for over 10 years and have never had one break on me from a drop after a lift. In the same amount of time I've gone through numerous all rubber training bumpers when the metal inserts have blown out. To be fair, I've never used the all black economy plates pictured but the construction appears to be the same.
