It wasn't funny then, but it is now. Dated a girl for a couple of years (high school sweetheart-thing), and needless to say, we grew up and apart. I went to Army Basic, she went to Coastie Basic, and she decided the geography and situation weren't going to work. I was not happy, but tried to man up and be cool about the whole thing. She still wanted to be friends, however (you can see what's coming), and wrote me letters while at GM school in Yorktown. I read way too much into one such letter, bought a plane ticket, and flew out to see her. Got all the way to her barracks rec room, thinking this would be one of Those Moments, right?

First words out of her mouth when she saw me was, "Oh s***." Uh oh. Then her new Coast Guard friends drift over and ask, "Is this guy bugging you?". Eight to one looked like long odds to me, especially when the girl wasn't exactly going to thank me for "winning" her.

One plane ticket to Yorktown: $300.00

Total time on the ground: 2 hours

Learning that being friends means different things for men and women:

Priceless

Move to/Come visit Atlanta in about 9-10 months and I'll gladly take you out. I'm pretty sure there's a few other guys around here would ask you out in a heartbeat.
this thread has reassured me a few times that boston is short on masculinity.

ps, i already AM a yankees fan. i'd be switching to the red sox...huh, maybe that's my problem?

Could be...

I'm not a fan of either team, I just like pushing people's buttons with that.

Jamie,

I have never been to western PA so I will keep that in mind. Wanted to come out to the meatfest but that dang work thing got in my way.

Re: CrossFitMatch.com

Jamie what I do right now is definitely not more awesome than Meatfest. I will be moving during that time frame and getting ready to start a course the next day. So logistically it just isn't possible. I may not even get to watch any of the CF games because of this whole moving/school thing. (Insert pouting here)

Re: CrossFitMatch.com

Oh come on Renee, make an effort!

I am going to try and document my weekend in pictures. We shall see how it goes. I usually forget. But if I get something together, PM's for everyone!
