Re: Open Competition

Hmm, I've heard of TJ's but TheCave/CrossFitMarin is my CFHomebase family.

Sounds kinda baloney to me.

Re: Open Competition

Yeah. They placed really well in the teams competition last year so you'd think with exposure like that they wouldn't need to nickel and dime people (or I suppose nickel and Jackson people...).

I've heard it's a killer gym so hopefully it's either a misunderstanding or there's a lot more to it than what's being mentioned.

Re: Open Competition

It also depends on which TJ's it is. I know there is one in San Rafael or CorteMadera/Marin and the one in Novato by Hamilton I think. So it might be branch specific.

Re: Open Competition

How foolish and lame!

There are several gyms in my area that are not only not charging members, they are advertising invitations for one and all to come and be judged for free as a way to recruit new membership. This is one of those rare moments where you get to see the true character of an organization. I'd take this as an opportunity to find a better box.

Re: Open Competition

I'd assume TJ's in Novato. And it's not in Hamilton it's off of Redwood Blvd, bout a block away from Trader Joe's.

Re: Open Competition

My bad, I thought it was in Hamilton. Who knows which one it could be since they have 4 boxes now.

I would generally think that if you had a membership at a box, then you shouldn't get charged extra per WOD to have them submitted (besides registering online with CF).

I would understand charging non-members perhaps the normal drop-in rate, a higher or a lower rate. That's a gym's prerogative.
