Re: Murph's Log 2.0 (Bataan Memorial Death March Training)

I am looking to maintain strength (80-90%) throughout this process. I'll drop some bodyweight (hopefully mostly fat) and dramatically increase cardio/endurance. Those are the main goals right now. Just following the program I outlined above. This month is one strength day a week, with extra cardio.

Are you just following a strictly paleo diet right now? I'm always going back and forth between programs trying to find the right balance and doing what seems like the most fun.

Are you planning on getting the endurance up for sections?

Sorry for all the posts but just read your program. Any reason for all the running? Really enjoy it? Training for something? Major weakness? Your strength is looking good.

Re: Murph's Log 2.0 (Bataan Memorial Death March Training)

Dan - I'm training for a marathon - The 22nd Annual Bataan Memorial Death March (http://www.bataanmarch.com/ w/f/s). Wanted to switch things up and do something cool with my brother.

And yes, major weakness, build endurance, prep for sectionals.

Dan - I am trying to stay as paleo as possible - definitely no bread/pasta/sugar. Although with my work schedule and business meals, some sugar sneaks in. It's working well for me over the last month. I am trying to limit the "cheat" meals to once a month. I also do a good amount of fasting. Yesterday day looked like this

apples, turkey jerky, nuts
salad, tuna, avocado, nuts
salad, salmon, broccoli
salad, chix, avocado

So some sugar snuck in for the jerky, tuna, and the last salad. I don't stress it too much though. At home I eat even cleaner.

Re: Murph's Log 2.0 (Bataan Memorial Death March Training)

diet looking spot on. I've messed around with the paleo diet for a few months. Only problem I had with it was it really backed me up. Kind of seemed counter intuitive. Problem went away after adding in some oatmeal. I was getting over 50grams of fiber per day in fruits and vegetables and it only seemed to make things worse. Drinking well over a gallon per day too.
