What is the goal of XF

Had an interesting discussion the other day with a freind of mine that got me thinking about some things. What does doing XF achieve for the individual person? Ill preface this by saying I love XF and navyseals.com crossfit workouts. I think in terms of difficult they are way up there.

So saying that:

I have seen workouts and done workouts designed for fat loss, and workouts designed for increases in power and so forth. All of which are used to achieve a goal.

So what fitness goal does XF hope to achieve?

Re: What is the goal of XF

When I get asked at Globo what I'm training for (my goal), and it happens regularly because I look so out of place, my answer is this:

"I'm training not to suck at life"

Higher work capacity across broad time and modal domains.

Re: What is the goal of XF

Complete athlete! Is this not the fundamental goal of all that you do. To become stronger, faster, leaner, fitter and better at every task imaginable.

Now that I've got the crossfit stance out of the way, you are a crossfitter, your goals are your own. CrossFit gives you that opportunity to do whatever you want. If you want to concentrate on strength, do it. If you want to concentrate on endurance, do it. If you are crap at handstand push ups - get better at them.

Get as good as YOU can at everything

The goal is to make you better at the 10 aspects of fitness. Healthy bodies work better than weak or unconditioned bodies. They are easier to keep healthy and they degenerate much slower than average bodies.

What purpose does it serve for you friend to drink a 6 pack or watch TV?

In simplest form, it'd be "different ways of doing things with your body." The term modal domain just lumps all of the million different activities of life, from sport to being able to sit down and stand up, into one term. To put the entire quote into as simple of terms I'd rephrase it as; "Increased work ability over differing time and activities."

Just my 2 cents.

No. If there is a series that I find entertaining I wait for the DVD so I can watch it on my own time without the waste of commercials.
